Changemaker program offers opportunity for high school students, apply by July 7

Madison College is empowering the next generation of leaders with the Changemaker Leadership Program, set for July 28-Aug. 16 at the Truax Campus. High school juniors and seniors in the Madison Metropolitan School District can secure a spot in this unique experience and earn college credit at no cost by applying by July 7.
This immersive three-week program brings together teens ready to dream big, dig deep, and do real work that makes a meaningful difference.
"This program is about listening to the hearts and minds of our community's brilliant young people and giving them the tools to say something and do something about the things that matter the most to them through leadership development, participatory research, storytelling, and creative expression." says Madison College strategist and lead program coach Sheldon Hitchens.
Students will collaborate on real-world campaigns that have a community impact, such as raising awareness, advocating for policy change, or transforming public narratives. These campaigns feature creative components such as visual art, digital storytelling, and public installations.
Earn college credits, tuition-free
Participants will register as Madison College students and enroll in a Social Media and Marketing course offered through the School of Business and Applied Arts.
Students will be evaluated on their work and will receive a letter grade, as well as three college credits, for successfully completing the course.
Madison College developed Changemaker as a bold, future-facing college pathway program to ignite the potential of emerging leaders through community action research.
The experience is a joint effort of the Office of Organizational Culture and the Community Engagement Department in the Division of College Culture and Climate, Academic Affairs, and the School of Business and Applied Arts.
