Experience the artistry of instructors at Madison College Gallery
When students walk into an art classroom at Madison College, they learn from instructors who are not only teachers, but working artists.
This spring, the community can see that creativity firsthand.
The Studio Faculty Showcase at the Gallery at Truax features artwork created by Madison College art instructors. The free exhibit runs March 23-April 17, 2026, and highlights the same skills and techniques faculty bring into their classrooms every day. The opening reception will be held Thursday, March 26, from 4–6 p.m. Guests can meet the artists and explore the exhibit. The reception is free and open to the public.
Visitors will see a wide range of styles, including painting, drawing and mixed media. The exhibit offers a behind-the-scenes look at the creative work that shapes the student experience.
Faculty who teach in the University Transfer – Arts and Humanities program created the pieces on display. In their classes, students learn foundational art skills such as composition, design and technique. Because instructors remain active artists, they bring real-world experience into the classroom. Their work reflects experimentation, growth and personal expression—the same qualities they encourage in students.
For students, these courses provide a starting point. They can earn an associate degree and transfer their credits to four-year colleges and universities to continue studying art or related fields.
The Gallery at Truax hosts exhibits throughout the year, connecting students and the community with local and regional artists.
