Mind and Body Courses
The Mat Pilates course will focus on increasing core strength and improving posture, balance, coordination, flexibility, and breath awareness. Pilates, part of the mind-body series of fitness, is a non-impact series of exercises and will include modifications to adapt movements to various fitness levels.

Discover the health benefits of daily foods from a traditional Chinese medicine perspective. All herbs and foods have natural temperatures and are harvested in specific seasons. These seasonal foods and herbs assist with the functioning of our organs in addition to helping us maintain and survive the weathers. The traditional Chinese medicine practice of using foods and herbs will guide the content of this course.

Each week you'll have access to a 45 min video that includes fun fitness routines to music that will keep you physically fit and core strong. Plus you can use the video as often as you like throughout the week! You'll also have the opportunity to connect with your instructor regarding questions you might have or modifications you might need along the way.

Exercise is beneficial for all ages, but especially as we age. This class will include a variety of gentle yoga, basic Pilates, and core based exercises designed to maintain flexibility, alleviate stiff joints, and build core strength.

Weightlifting is a form of strength training with positive physiological outcomes on muscles, connective tissues, and bones. This class will use a combination of Olympic and Power Weightlifting techniques to develop barbell skill and strength. Strength training is one way we can improve the durability and vitality of our body, reduce the risk of disease, and improve mind-body wellness.

In this 4 week course, participants will learn major characteristics of each of the 7 main chakras as well as practice asanas (yoga poses) on the mat to align with each one. Learn how to use other elements in daily life to balance each chakra as well.

This combination classroom and movement class will introduce the 8 limbs of yoga. Students will participate in yoga poses, breathing techniques and guided meditation practices used in the 8 limbs. This class will help students understand the yoga tradition and history and help them move, breathe, relax and focus to improve their own quality of life.
