Apprenticeship programs that require testing can be taken at Madison College. The tests that are required depend on which apprenticeship you have an interest in. Please visit the Madison College Apprenticeships page for more information.

Due to COVID-19, both virtual and in-person testing sessions are available. For virtual appointments: internet access, audio, and video capabilities are needed. To request a test session, please email with the information listed below. A proctor will contact you to discuss virtual proctoring options and schedule your sessions.

Self-scheduling: Our web calendar offers limited, virtual and in-person sessions. You may register for the session of your choice by clicking the link below. Please note: registration closes 48 hours prior to session start time. For students without internet, audio and video access, choose an in-person testing session. If unable to find a session option, follow the email instructions above and a proctor will contact you to schedule your appointment.

    • Test sessions are 1 to 3 hours.
    • Indicate Apprenticeship program when registering for your exam.

    Components of the Exam

    The Apprenticeship exams may include all or some of the following areas:

    • Reading
    • Writing
    • Mathematics

    We encourage you to prepare for the exam. A number of resources are available on the CollegeBoard website.

    Student Achievement Center offers in person study help. You will need to have a Madison College student ID number to receive tutoring services.

    The library provides study resources including online tutoring (Brainfuse), SkillSurfer, and LearningExpress library.

  • Fees

    • The cost is $5 for each component. Fees will be billed to your Madison College account.
    • Retests are $5 for each component and allowed only once within two years. Subsequent retests must be approved by an academic advisor.
    • Students are encouraged to make payments as soon as possible after testing to avoid delay in acceptance in the apprenticeship program.
    • Payment is accepted at all campuses except the Commercial Avenue site. Fees may also be paid online.
    • For financial hardship cases, contact the Testing Center to inquire about a test fee waiver. Limited waivers are available and qualifying documentation will be required.

    How are scores submitted to my apprenticeship?

    The Madison College Apprenticeship Office will send scores to the Apprenticeship that you indicated on your test registration. Scores will not be submitted until fees are paid.

    Where can I take the apprenticeship test?

    Testing is available at all Madison College campuses.

    How do I request a Copy of my apprenticeship placement scores?

    Students must not have an outstanding financial obligation to Madison College or credentials will not be processed until the hold is released by Madison College. You must submit a completed a Test Score Record Request (PDF) to the Testing & Assessment Center either in-person, by mail or fax.
