Earn your high school diploma plus college credits at Madison College.
Gateway to College is a program designed to help motivated students struggling in traditional high school environments earn high school diplomas and begin taking college credits at the same time.
If you have goals but aren't on track to graduate high school where you are, you may benefit by learning in a smaller, more mature environment at Madison College.
About Gateway to College
The Gateway to College program is part of a national network of 43 colleges in 23 states. It serves students ages 16 to 21 who have dropped out of high school or are at risk of dropping out by allowing them to earn a high school diploma and credits toward a college degree.
Before entering Gateway to College, most students had a high school GPA below 2.0. Some had left school entirely, while others were behind their peers and unlikely to complete.
However, through Gateway, these students not only finished high school, they accumulated approximately 20 college credits, and most Gateway graduates continue in college.
How Gateway to College Works
Gateway to College students attend classes at our Madison Truax campus and receive comprehensive academic and advisory assistance to overcome challenges inside and outside the classroom.
On average, students spend about two to three semesters in the program, where you can earn more than 20 college credits.
Students must meet all program requirements to continue participating, such as maintaining a C average.
How You'll Learn
In your first semester, you'll begin by taking foundational courses as part of a learning community. You'll study high school-level reading, writing and math. In addition, you may take up to 9-12 college credits.

Later in the semester, you'll focus on career development to help you determine your academic goals and select a college major.
