Summer 2021 Virtual Career Discovery Camps Schedule
Generating Sustainable Energy:
Grades 6-8, Online Live, June 21-23, 10-11:30 a.m.
Learn how different types of energy are created, stored, and used. This camp is reserved for students in grades 6-8. Hands-on projects will demonstrate wind and solar power. And you'll generate some power yourself! All supplies are included in a kit that will be mailed in June.
Biology, Technology, and Engineering, Oh my!: Grades 6-8, Online Live, June 28-30, 10-11:30 a.m.
Each day will present a different STEM topic and project. This camp is reserved for students in grades 6-8. Build your own flashlight, discover the micro-world around us, and see how far a trebuchet will throw. All supplies are included in a kit that will be mailed in June.
Leadership Launch: Grades 7-11, Online Live, June 15, 9 a.m. - noon
Learn about the actions and mindset of a leader! This camp is reserved for students in grades 7-11. Assess your skills and explore how to build on your strengths to expand your leadership abilities. Analyze great leaders and apply their success to enhance your own. Learn how your leadership skills can be applied in any career path. Spots are limited for this online session, so please register only if you can commit to attending.
Baking Fun!: Grades 6-11, On-demand, July 1 - August 20
Learn how to make delicious baked items from scratch. This camp is reserved for students in grades 6-11.You will learn how to take base recipes and change them into many different varieties. You’ll watch demonstration videos (available July 6), then create your own tasty treats! Share photos/videos of your finished products. Explore careers in the baking industry, such as baker, cake decorator and more. Participate on your own schedule — soft start July 1 with recipes to review. After registering, you’ll receive a supply list so you can gather or purchase needed supplies. Adult discretion advised on the use of kitchen equipment.
Automotive Technology: Grades 5-8, Online Live, July 7, 10-10:30 a.m.
Vroom! Have you ever wondered how a car works or what that piece is hanging off the bottom? This camp is reserved for students in grades 5-8. Here is a virtual camp opportunity to explore the parts of an automobile and how they work together to keep people moving. This is a great camp for parents to participate in with their kids to check things out under the hood and under the car. Adult supervision recommended for exploration of automobile. Camp will kick off live online on July 7, with additional activities to be completed offline. Students will also sign up for a 10-minute individual time slot with the instructor on Wednesday Thursday, July 8 to wrap up and ask any questions.
Early Childhood Education:
Grades 5-8, On-demand, July 7-30

Explore and develop fun activities to engage the children in your home or neighborhood. Discover the crucial importance of quality early childhood education.
