Madison College is on track to select its next president this spring.

The Madison College Board of Trustees reports that the search committee met on Feb. 6 to review applications received by Gold Hill Associates, the college’s search firm. Selected semi-finalists will participate in interviews in late February.

Board chair Donald D. Dantzler Jr. said once interviews are completed, the search committee will deliberate and recommend finalists to the board. The board will review recommendations and expects to announce presidential candidate finalists in early March.

Finalists will participate in candidate forums, including community events and visits to all Madison College campuses in late March. Dantzler and the board encourage the public and the Madison College community of students, faculty, and staff to be involved in the candidate forum events.

“The board is committed to selecting a president with the skills and experience that will allow them to navigate a complex college and maintain and expand the community partnerships critical to Madison College’s success,” Dantzler said. "Input from the community and employees will be an important element of the board’s consideration of each finalist.”

The Madison College Board of Trustees restarted the presidential search process last October after a finalist withdrew from the initial search. The board selected Madison College Executive Vice President of Student Affairs, Dr. Tim Casper, to serve as interim president, following the retirement of longtime President Jack E. Daniels III in January.

The board anticipates Madison College’s next president will take the leadership helm on July 1 of this year.

Madison College has three Madison campuses and regional campuses in Fort Atkinson, Reedsburg, Portage, and Watertown. It serves more than 27,000 students throughout its 12-county district. The college is preferred for high-quality and affordable secondary education, continuing education, professional development, and learning opportunities for K-12 students in 40 school districts.
