When it comes to surprises, Madison College President Jack Daniels is not a fan.

"I don't like surprises," he told a packed room at the college's Goodman South campus. Daniels was secretly being honored for making his vision of the campus a reality and for his efforts to boost donations for the college's Scholars of Promise program, which has raised more than $1 million for low-income students.

As a tribute to his leadership, the Madison College Foundation unveiled a large Stand By Jack gratitude wall at the Goodman South campus and also named the community meeting rooms after Daniels.

In addition, Gov. Tony Evers and Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway issued certificates of commendation to Daniels for his dedicated service to the community.
