President Daniels shares plan for spring 2021 semester
Before you know it, the spring 2021 semester will be here. Madison College President Jack Daniels has this special message about the college's spring educational offerings, COVID-19 safety precautions and more.
Madison College welcomes you
As we look to 2021 and our spring semester, I remind you that Madison College is here for you. No matter what happens, count on us to help you reach your career and educational goals. 2020 has presented obstacles that at times have felt insurmountable: COVID-19, unemployment, racism and violence. Yet, as a community, we have managed to forge ahead. Our educational offerings for Spring 2021 are stronger than ever.
Your safety remains our top priority
Our COVID-19 protocols have been effective in keeping our community safe. We have been able to limit the number of positive cases on campus. Thanks to careful planning, we were able to act swiftly to limit our campus community’s exposure to those cases. You have our word that we will follow stringent campus safety guidelines as long as we need to.
Course Formats
Our spring course schedule is again designed for maximum flexibility, providing several course options for students and ensuring everyone’s health and safety. The primary emphasis for all programs, credentials and courses is to continue to offer remote delivery options including online and online live. We anticipate approximately 70 percent of our courses will be held in remote formats.
For learning that requires some in-person instruction, we will focus on hybrid delivery (that is, a combination of online and in-person). Fully in-person classes will be extremely limited, offered only to targeted occupational programs. All classrooms have been adapted to allow for safe physical distancing.
Contingency plans will be in place to shift any in-person class to a fully remote environment, if conditions change. In cases where an in-person course or program component is required, but a student can’t attend (no matter the reason) advisors and faculty will work to find alternatives for the student’s course schedule. Find the latest course offerings and formats on our website.
