Celebrate culture and foster connections at the Dec. 7 Hmong New Year celebration

Join us for the vibrant Madison College Hmong New Year celebration on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Truax Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Experience the rich culture and traditions of the Hmong community through captivating performances by artists, dancers, and cultural performers. Immerse yourself in the festivities and explore a variety of vendors offering delectable food, traditional clothing, and unique merchandise.

This year's event will showcase a Hmong Institute exhibit, a captivating Hmong artifacts photo station, and performances from our talented community. As a special blessing, the first 200 guests will receive an egg, symbolizing hope and prosperity for the new year.

"The Hmong New Year is not just about performances but about the beginning of a new chapter and a bountiful harvest. We hope that in this experience we can provide each person with a blessing for the new year,” says Madison College Impact Coordinator Angie Yang.

Organized by Madison College's Asian American Student Association, Hmong Allies and Affinity Group, in collaboration with the Madison College Intercultural Exchange and the Division of College, Culture, and Climate, this event reflects the college's dedication to promoting cultural understanding and inclusivity. Don't miss this opportunity to partake in the vibrant Hmong New Year Celebration at Madison College.
