The face of construction is changing

Madison College instructors are seeing more women and people of color in the Construction and Remodeling program. Last year, four women took the course. This year, that number has almost doubled. In addition, the college has two full-time female instructors.

The construction boom is helping to open up the industry to new workers. Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows construction companies needed to hire 430,000 more workers in 2021.

Channel 3 and Channel 27 recently stopped by the college to do a story about the changing face of construction.
