Madison College has been recognized by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) as a 2024 Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting.

The college’s successful fall 2024 voter education campaign featured candidate forums, civic engagement, and information on redistricting.

Scarlet Martino, Madison College Student Program Advisor, attributes the college's achievement of the Most Engaged Campus award to the consistent presence of voter information on campus.

"Madison College is committed to promoting civic engagement and empowering students through voting and political participation," Martino said. "Healthy democracies thrive on informed and engaged citizens, and we are proud to lead the way with our impactful initiatives."

Voter education events included a Dane County Executive candidate forum and voter registration initiatives that attracted students and local media attention.

The college also launched a Vote Early Day Celebration at the Truax and Goodman South campuses with food and fun activities. The event was funded by the Students Learn Students Vote Coalition.

Another highlight was the “Campfire Conversations” that fostered civil discourse essential for a healthy democracy. Students enjoyed the discussions so much, that more are planned for the spring semester.

The ALL IN Most Engaged Campuses for College Student Voting recognizes colleges and universities for outstanding efforts to increase nonpartisan student voter participation. Madison College joins 471 colleges and universities recognized by ALL IN. The college has garnered ALL IN honors for its voter education initiatives since 2016.
