STEM Academy students getting head start on college

It's a program that allows Madison Metropolitan School District high school students to earn college credits at Madison College. And despite the pandemic, students in the Early College STEM Academy told the Cap Times they're having no problems adapting to virtual learning this year.

“Even though it is virtual, it has given us the opportunity to explore a new way of learning and adapt to new situations that might happen in the future,” Hetvi Shah told the newspaper.

Depending on the number of credits, the program allows students to receive an associate degree at the same time they graduate from high school.
