EMS Training

All classes with fewer than 10 registered students one week before the class start date will be canceled.

The type and location of classes offered varies by semester.


Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) - 80 hr

This course meets the endorsement requirements for the Critical Care Paramedic level. This is a state-approved 80-hour course including classroom, laboratory and clinical time. You must have two years working at the paramedic level or approval from your medical director to enroll.

OFFERING:

Lecture: Online Tuesdays, September 17 - November 26, 2019, 6-10 p.m.
Lab: Saturdays, November 2 and December 7, 2019, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Clinical: 20 hours during October 15 - December 1, 2019

REGISTRATION:

  1. Create your student account.
  2. Email the Paramedic Employment Verification form to EMS@madisoncollege.edu.
  3. Get enrollment permission from the instructor via email.
  4. Once online permission has been granted, you must take action to enroll via self-service or with staff assistance.

The course meets the renewal requirements for the Critical Care Paramedic Level. This is a state-approved 24-hour continuing education course.

AEMT Refresher - 42 hr

This course meets the licensure renewal requirements for the Advanced EMT Level (WI EMT Intermediate Technician). This is a state-approved 42-hour continuing education course.

EMR Refresher with Advanced Skills - 24 hr

This course meets the renewal requirements for the EMR Level (WI Emergency Medical Responder). This is a state-approved 24-hour continuing education course.

Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) - 72 hr

This is an entry-level emergency medical provider course that will prepare individuals for employment or a volunteer position in a variety of pre-hospital, industrial and first responder settings. The EMR course is designed to provide participants with the basic knowledge and skills to manage many medical and trauma-related emergencies. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are eligible to seek national certification as an emergency medical responder through the National Registry of EMTs.

    Current WI Registered Nurse License
    Healthcare Provider CPR Certification

EMS Leadership Certification - 4 hr

Module 3 – EMS Protocol Development and CommunityPart three of the 6-part series on EMS leadership. Participants can enter the series during any module and will receive a certificate after completing all six.
