Madison College and Edgewood College Celebrate New Transfer Agreement

Madison College and Edgewood College celebrated their partnership at a Feb. 29 signing ceremony at Edgewood College.

Madison College and Edgewood College have partnered to elevate student success in pursuing bachelor’s degrees in art and elementary education.

Madison College Associate degree art students and pre-major education students will be guaranteed Edgewood College admission if they meet the requirements.

This partnership shows the commitment of both parties involved to work together to create efficient and effective pathways for future educators in our state,” says Madison College Interim Provost Beth Giles. “It is more important now than ever that we continue to support the education field and we are truly excited to have an opportunity to support students who have chosen this very important profession.

Madison College Associate of Arts Degree and Education Pre-Major graduation students with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 will be offered guaranteed admission of junior status into Edgewood College’s Elementary Education program. Students can complete their bachelor’s degree in two years.

Edgewood College hosted Madison College at the Feb. 29 signing ceremony to celebrate the completion of the new Transfer Agreement for the Associate of Arts Degree, Education Pre-Major to Art and Design Teaching, and Bachelor’s Completion. The two colleges also recognized the Associate of Arts Degree, Education Pre-Major to Elementary Education Bachelor’s Completion Elementary Education agreement completed last summer

“Edgewood College has a long history of partnering with Madison College in supporting students to reach their goal of a bachelor’s degree, and we are confident that these new agreements will strengthen the Madison College to Edgewood College pathways,” says Julie Luecke, Edgewood College Associate Professor and Associate Dean of the Division of Education. “Our Education programs will be enriched by new students following the Education Pre-Major to Art and Design Teaching and Elementary Education Bachelor’s Completion programs, and together we will be helping to address the teaching shortage in K-12 education. We are honored to participate in this collaboration that will benefit many in the Madison community and beyond.”

Madison College and Edgewood College have 20 transfer agreements in criminal justice, engineering, graphic design, IT-web software development, liberal arts, mechanical design, nursing, manufacturing, and web and digital media design.
