Industrial Mechanic - Facilities Maintenance
Madison College will offer a new Facilities Maintenance program Fall 2020. The program awards a one-year technical diploma. The program provides general knowledge of:-
installing, diagnosing and repairing basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other building issues.

painting, flooring repair, carpentry, and drywall repair.

identifying building maintenance needs, prioritizing work and take corrective action.

tools and equipment used in building maintenance and repair.

interpreting sketches, drawings, diagrams and blue prints.

Computerized Maintenance Management System software and understand Preventative maintenance requirements and practices.

safe work practices when using a variety of hand and power tools and recognize other occupational hazards.

troubleshoot and repair electrical switches, outlets, lighting systems and fixtures.

Hands-on learning will challenge students to master this knowledge and use their critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Successful students will be prepared for a rewarding and well-paying career designing, building and maintaining systems and equipment in a team environment.
